Welcome to Blackbrush.
I find ART to be a very beautiful thing that comes in so many different shapes and forms... and that surrounds us in our daily life every single day. I've used it as a tool to express my self and to free my mind. It has definitely helped me trough some very tough times in my life ever since I was a little kid. It helped me to connect with other people, it was a way for them to get to know me and to see who I was and who I was ment to be.
Here is my collection of some of the work I've done.
Click on the pictures to enlarge them. I hope you enjoy them.
Thank you, Sincerely // Philippe Antonio A.R

THE REBEL

I Was inspired by 2 things for this painting, one of them was a sad song from 1977 called "Soy Rebelde" by Jeanette... and the second was a commercial poster I saw in a mall near where I live... I'm a fanatic of sunglasses and been since I was a kid, and there was a commercial poster in that mall I saw several times when going there... but in the poster you could only see the sunglasses that looked like these below in the painting but you couldn't see much else... so I always wondered how the rest of her could look.
So, I painted the rest of her and and had the song as inspiration.

MATHILDA FROM LÉON

Léon the Professional is one of my favorite movies ever, and the character Mathilda was so cool in the movie. So, I've painted two different pictures of her from that movie.
First one (made 2 versions) is more a portrait inspired by a cool pose she had on a scene from the movie.
The other one of the paintings is a another scene from the movie when she is sitting near the window in Léons department having an actual smoke... (she really did that and she was just 11! years old then). Named my oldest daughter after her character ;)

oh sandy

GREASE made in 1978 is one of my favorite movies, definitely my favorite musical and as soon as I heard about her passing I knew what my next painting was going to be... this one.
Listened so much to all of the songs from the movie while painting this piece, especially the "Oh Sandy" song and that's why I decided to call this painting that.
I was trying to find out for a long time what I could hide as cool references in this piece and thought of 2 in the end. One of them is quite visible, the "Grease" name in her curls in the hair, one of the most difficult things I've painted haha.
The other one is for you to find but its a reference to Danny Zuko.

These are the some of the very first portraits I ever painted. The first one up in the gallery is the very first and I painted that to be 100x150 cm in size, it was going to go up in a living room wall but I decided once I was finnished to wait to print it.

Star Wars SQUARE

Love Star Wars and their "bad guys"... so when I did these I decided to combine my art with some photoshop skills I had been practicing on for a while, and I loved the outcome.

SUPERSPLASH

I love superhero movies and have been doing that since Tim Burtons Batman movies. Here with these creations I had just started to explore Photoshop so I played a lot with it and with the heroes that I loved. Not much painting here but did some sketches for how I wanted them to look in the beginning.

IBRA IL IMPERATORE

THE WORLDS MOST AGILE FOOTBALL PLAYER?

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is just incredible and for me he is one of the top 5 best football players in HISTORY!
I just had to make a painting out of him and in true Zlatan Style. IBRA THE EMPEROR
This one took me a while, but I'm so happy with the final results of it.

NILS KURT  EINAR 2002-2019

Einar was one of the most successful rappers in history in Sweden. Though his music wasn't really my cup of taste and did a commission because I had an idea of the final art. And this is how it turned out... lots of hidden messages in it.

HASTA LA VISTA BABY

One of the coolest movies I watched as a kid and still is to this day was THE TERMINATOR 2.
Arnold was born for this role and yeah, it impacted me a lot with how much I would love movies. When I made this I thought, l want to make Terminator in a dark Miami styled portrait. There are 3 shotgun hidden somewhere in it, can you find it?

WHAT I USE TO CREATE MY ART

I have an iPad Pro 12.9 inches from 2018 + Apple pen gen1 and it's the best things I've ever had to paint with.
Combine that with the best app out there for digital artists "Procreate" and that's it... You need nothing else! Within the app I then have over 150+ different brushes I can create my art.
